Hailing from New Delhi, India, Bainz first set foot in the music industry in 2008. Fast forward a decade and more, he has become the go to mixer and engineer for Young Thug and his label Young Stoner Life Records and most recently mixed the entirety of Young Stoner Life’s compilation album Slime Language 2 which debuted at #1 on Billboard 200.

It all started when he graduated Valedictorian from the Record Arts and Music Business program at Full Sail University. Next step was New York City, where he worked for numerous studios including Blast Off Productions and Dubway Studios.

In 2010, Bainz teamed up with Michael Brian. The duo laid the foundation for Crosby Collective Studios on the famous Crosby Street in the heart of SoHo. Six years in the making, as their sound became bigger, so did their plans. The Crosby Team headed west to Los Angeles. Now Crosby Recording Studios LA, a multi-million dollar compound, operates with Bainz, as the Chief Engineer. They are also currently expanding and have a brand new state of the art facility under construction slated to open at the end of the year.

Bainz has been responsible for engineering and mixing some of the most defining global hip hop hits. These include ‘Ski’ by Young Thug and Gunna from the viral #SkiChallenge, the multi-platinum ‘Hotby Young Thug, Gunna and Travis Scott, multi-platinum ‘Go Crazy’ by Chris Brown and Young Thug, Billboard Hot 100’s #1 ‘Franchise’ by Travis Scott featuring Young Thug and M.I.A, to name a few

In addition, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the most celebrated artists of this generation, including Future, Nipsey Hussle, Estelle, Trippie Redd, Mac Miller, Sia, Juice WRLD, Jay Sean, Prateek Kuhad, Rich The Kid, Eric Nam, Shy Glizzy, Offset, Quavo, Machine Gun Kelly, James Fauntelroy and of course, the entire YSL family

Bainz has cemented his place among the best of the best in the industry and has become the go-to guy for hip-hop and trap records as well as for younger engineers for advice on recording and mixing techniques in his sessions. He is also working with powerhouse brands such as Avid, MCDSP, Townsend Labs, Acustica Audio, Lauten Audio, Sound Theory, Arturia, IK multimedia, and many more. 

In 2021, Bainz was featured in the July issue of Sound on Sound magazine in the Inside Track column for his mix on ‘Ski’. He was also tapped by Avid to showcase their new Carbon interface.
